FRIDAY IN LONDON (CONTINUED) (August 2, 2013)

I'm having a little trouble with my blog site this time and sometimes I think it's because the wireless connection is hit or miss here.  I will continue now . . . .

After lunch we walked a little more but I started getting tired so we decided to head back to our hotels and meet up again later.  We took the tube back and it was fast and convenient.  I think it was about 5:30 or so and we decided to meet again at 8:00.

We took a little nap and then got cleaned up to meet Noel for our last visit this trip.  David and I weren't really hungry for dinner but we thought a big dessert sounded good.  We presented this idea to Noel and he was all for it.  On the way to meet us he had seen a man eating a big piece of apple pie which he thought looked good so we headed back that direction to see what they had for dessert.  I believe it was near the Soho district.  We arrived there and . . . the restaurant was closed.

We knew we would find other places so we pretty much started wandering the streets.  We went down Barnaby Street and happened upon a restaurant that looked like they had a good dessert case.  We got a table and David had carrot cake, I chocolate fudge cake (big surprise!) and Noel had his favorite dessert, tiramisu.  David and I neither one like tiramisu and we almost had a falling out with Noel over that!!!  He wasn't sure he could remain friends with people who don't like tiramisu.

The desserts were great and we had a wonderful last visit.  We had spent the last few days trying to talk Noel into visiting us in the states and David turned it into planning Noel's retirement trip.  If Noel isn't careful, he'll have to spend about three months in America visiting all of the places David has lined up for him!  Noel has many friends in the states so it will have to be a very long trip.  I don't believe Noel even plans to retire for a few more years but  you know David when he starts to plan something!!!

We finally had to say good bye and head back to our hotel to get packed and ready to leave early Saturday morning.  Noel is a wonderful friend and GREAT travel partner and I know we will see him again soon.

Why is packing never as fun as traveling????
